Paxos island Greece

The 'Spring Painting Week' (2 - 9 May 2016) costs £995 per person, which includes

     •  tuition as described on this website
     •  7 nights’ accommodation in a shared twin room in Villa Poseidon or
        Villa Amphitrite

return transfers between Corfu Airport and Loggos using shared taxis
        and the scheduled hydrofoil/boat service
     •  breakfast
     •  5 light (meze-style) lunches with local wine
     •  5 dinners with local wine
     •   welcome and farewell drinks
local transport required in connection with the painting sessions

 The price does not include

     •  travel to and from Greece
     •   supplement for sole use of twin/double room (£125)
     •  holiday insurance

This will be in Villas Poseidon and Amphitrite, two lovely new villas situated just behind Marmari and Levrechio Beaches, and just a few minutes walk from Loggos harbour. We shall be running the villas as one unit so that all participants will have the use of the external facilities at all villas. We will advise you at the time of booking, if it becomes necessary to arrange additional accommodation, which we will endeavour to ensure is of a similar standard and in the same vicinity. If this is not possible, then the difference in the standard and location will be reflected in the cost.

Single supplements

Accommodation in a shared twin room is included in the price and a limited number of twin/double rooms are available for single occupancy upon payment of a supplement of £125 per person per week.

Allocation of rooms

We are not able to allocate rooms until we know the final make-up of the group. It is therefore not possible to book specific rooms, although you may make special requests, which we will do our best to meet. You may, however, state your preference for a double or twin room if two people are booking together.

We will, as far as possible, allocate what we consider to be the best rooms to early bookers but we will need to reserve twin rooms, rather than doubles, for sharers, unless a double has been specifically requested.

Prior to the start of the holiday we will ask you what you would like for breakfast and we will then provide you with an initial supply of breakfast provisions, which we will replenish mid-week. A meze-style lunch with local wine is included on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Dinner with local wine is included on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. These meals will be taken in local tavernas which will be selected by the holiday leader. In addition, there will be welcome and farewell drinks at the villas.

Dinner in Loggos

Transfers between Corfu Airport and the villas are included. All transfers will be by shared taxis and the scheduled hydrofoil/boat service, unless stated otherwise on your Booking Confirmation and Confirmation Invoice, or dictated by local circumstances. If the hydrofoil/boat service between Corfu and Paxos is suspended for any reason eg adverse weather conditions, mechanical failure or industrial action, we will do our best to arrange alternative transport for you. Where we are able to do this, it will be subject to the payment by you of any additional charges incurred by us. If we are unable to arrange alternative transport, then we will help you to find accommodation, which again will be at additional cost to you. It is essential that your insurance policy includes cover for delayed departure, missed departure and missed connection.

We can also arrange transfers using the sea taxi from Corfu but these will incur an additional charge. Details of all the transport services that operate between Corfu and Paxos are on the ‘Getting to Paxos’ pages of this website.

Flight timings

The cost of travel to and from Greece is not included and we do not arrange this. If you are travelling via Corfu, you should choose a flight that lands by 13.00 at the very latest in order to be sure of catching the afternoon hydrofoil/boat service to Paxos. If your flight lands later than 13.00, then you may have to spend the first night of your holiday on Corfu at your own expense.

On the return journey, the early morning hydrofoil/boat from Paxos will normally get you back to Corfu in time to catch flights leaving after 11.00. If you are at all concerned about getting back to Corfu in time to catch your return flight to the UK, then you might like to consider extending your holiday and spending an additional night in Corfu town.  We are always happy to discuss the options with you.

Holiday insurance

It is a condition of booking our holidays/courses/activities that you have comprehensive travel insurance that includes cover for the holidays/courses/activities in which you intend to participate. The cost of insurance is not included in the cost of the holiday. If you have already taken out travel insurance, you will need to check your policy to ensure that it provides cover for all the holidays/courses/activities in which you will be participating. If it does not, then you will need to contact your insurer to arrange additional cover. For holidays to Paxos it is particularly important that your insurance policy includes cover for delayed departure, missed departure and missed connections, as transport links with Corfu can sometimes be disrupted.
