aboard their spacious yacht and took us on a relaxing
cruise from Paxos back to Corfu, visiting some lovely
towns on the mainland on the way. Kostas handled the

Golden Odysseus is an ocean-going Skipper 53 that comes
with her own skipper and hostess. She is an
elegant yacht
and, although slightly older than our other two yachts
(she was built in 1994), she has recently been
refurbished and has a large, comfortable interior, and spacious
teak decks for sunbathing and relaxing. Golden Odysseus
offers the chance to experience 'bigger boat sailing' at reasonable cost, even if you have never sailed
before.
Golden
Odysseus is owned and crewed by Kostas and Kate, who
take real pride in their yacht and look after their
guests extremely well. Kostas is the skipper and, as
hostess, Kate does the shopping and cooks breakfast and
lunch; she will also cook dinner if you would like to
dine on board. So you can be as hands on or as laid
back as you like.
There are four double cabins, each with its own en suite
head and shower, and a skipper cabin with its own
separate entrance.
The large comfortable saloon
has seating for 12 and has a flat screen
TV, DVD player, music system with speakers both below
and on deck, and a Wi-fi connection. The galley
kitchen has full cooking facilities, including two fridges,
an oven, hob and microwave. Bed linen, towels, and pillows are provided.
The
cockpit has a large bimini sunshade, bathing platform,
swim ladder and deck shower. Snorkelling
and fishing equipment are provided and the dinghy is
equipped with an outboard motor.
The Cost: Prices are available on application
but, as a guide, the
weekly charter fee ranges from £2,950 in May, early
June, September and October to £4,400 in late July and
August.
Fuel, water, any port fees, food and drinks (for your party and
your skipper/hostess) are not included and are to be
paid locally.
Golden Odysseus can also
usually be chartered for periods of as little as two or
three days, especially out of high season.
Prices are available on application
but, as a guide, the
daily charter fee ranges from £600 to £750.
Day Trips: Day
trips (maximum capacity 10 persons) from 10.00 to 18.00
are also sometimes available at short notice, in which
case the charter fee of 600 euros (to be paid locally)
includes the services of the skipper and hostess, fuel,
gourmet snacks, wine and soft drinks. For a daily
charter fee of 700 euros, full lunch cooked on board is
also included, and for a fee of 800 euros, the charter
can be extended to 21.30 and also includes cocktails.
Day trips from Corfu Town normally go up to Kassiopi and
the pretty bays opposite the coast of Albania before
returning via Vidos Island if sailing conditions are
good. Trips from Paxos might go round Paxos and Anti
Paxos stopping off in secluded bays, or across to Sivota
Mourtas or Parga on the coast of Epirus, if sailing
conditions are good. If

As Golden Odysseus comes
with her own skipper, no
previous sailing experience is required.
Other Yachts: We can also offer
three other yachts. Circe is a beautiful Norwegian gaff-rigged ketch that has been
completely rebuilt to a very high standard and comes
with her own captain and crew of two.
The guide price for a week's charter, including the
captain and crew, is
£8,000 - £12,500.
Commitment II is a Sun Odyssey 52.2 built in 2002
and is a spacious yacht offering real luxury and style.
The guide price for a week’s charter, including the skipper,
is £3,150 - £4,500 and for two days'
charter £1,300 - £2,000.
The Bavaria 41
is ideal for smaller groups or for anyone wanting to
enjoy sailing for a couple of days while still retaining
the comfort of their own villa.The
guide price is £450 - £700 a day, including the skipper.
