JANE MONTAGUE

“Through all my life’s adventure, yoga has kept me healthy and sane, and I recommend it for any problem, whether physical, mental or emotional.”

Jane Montague was introduced to yoga by her mother over 40 years ago and has continued to practice it regularly throughout her life. As well as being a qualified yoga teacher, she is also a qualified homeopath, remedial masseuse, therapeutic art counsellor and NLP practitioner, who regularly leads meditation groups, and yoga and social art classes for people of all ages and abilities.

Jane has always been interested in the more human side of relationships and it was this, combined with her medical background (she initially trained as a nurse) that led her to investigate different ways of healing or staying healthy.

She qualified as a remedial masseuse (ITEC) and also decided to study homoeopathy, eventually registering as a homoeopath (RSHom).

With a looming recession, she decided to also train as a yoga teacher and is now registered with the governing body for the UK, The British Wheel of Yoga (Dip BWY).

More recently, Jane has undertaken a transformative arts course and now holds a City and Guilds registration in therapeutic art. She has held many successful exhibitions in and around Eastbourne, actively supporting the local festival Art Open House scheme.

Throughout her life Jane has used meditation, yoga and the natural world to stay inspired and creative, and enjoys nothing more than to able to share with others the skills she has learnt en route.  She was dreaming of running workshops combining yoga, meditation and 'art' in the sunnier climate of France, where he hopes one day to spend more time. But for now she is delighted to have been invited to run a workshop on the beautiful Greek island of Paxos.

Jane has also been a qualified architect for over 20 years and operates a bilingual practice, as she is registered in both the UK (RIBA) and France (L'Ordre des Architectes d'Aquitaine).

Jane lives in East Sussex with her teenage son and daughter.
